What the calendar stores and where it goes
Privacy and browser data
You can browse the public anime schedule without signing in. The calendar uses your browser's time-zone setting to show local times; it does not need GPS or a location cookie.
Preferences saved on this device
To remember your choices between visits, the calendar saves a small set of preferences in this browser's local storage: followed show IDs, your last selected streaming service, poster or list view, and whether aired episodes are hidden. These preferences stay in this browser and are not synced to a Simulcast Calendar account.
The calendar's app code does not set cookies. Clearing this site's browser storage or using another browser/device removes or resets the locally saved preferences.
Optional AniList sign-in
If you choose Sign in with AniList, AniList handles the sign-in page. AniList says its access tokens last one year and its OAuth system does not offer permission scopes, so a token can access broad account data. The returned token is kept in local storage in this browser. This calendar uses it to read the AniList profile and anime-list data needed for its features; it asks AniList to update watched progress only after you choose Mark watched. The browser sends the token directly to AniList's GraphQL API. Simulcast Calendar has no account database and does not receive that token through its own app API. See AniList's authentication documentation.
After sign-in, the calendar can add matching AniList shows to this browser's My shows list. It sends an update to AniList only when you mark an episode watched. Signing out removes the locally stored token and leaves your followed shows in this browser; it does not delete or change your AniList account.
Schedule and show data
The browser requests public schedule, artwork, rating, trailer, and service-link information from AniList to display the calendar and show details. A service link opens that provider's site only when you choose it. Availability and release timing can vary by region; listed links are not a real-time check that an episode is playable.
Want to reset your local choices?
Use your browser's site-data controls to clear stored data for simulcastcalendar.com. That also removes the AniList token stored on this device; it does not delete or change your AniList account.
